Workshop series with Jamie Ross: The Lashing

Jamie Ross led two workshops – one for children and one for adults – on the tying of knot spells, in the context of the making of an effigy using natural fibres foraged from the University of Toronto Scarborough campus. The first was developed for preschool aged children from N’shaeeman Childcare Centre, and included storytelling and a show-and-tell based on foraged objects. In the later workshop for adults, participants learned how to make rope from natural fibres and took part in constructing a Cornholio grain effigy, one of the figures that Radical Faeries and other pagans make and burn annually at the harvest holiday of Lammas.
