ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The DMG welcomed Animikiik’otcii Maakaai and Miranda Whiteloon to the U of T Scarborough campus this year, through a new Indigenous Youth Artist-in-Residence program. The residency, which runs the academic year 2018-2019 offers work space, a stipend, and access to campus resources, including course audits, culminating in a presentation or exhibition.

The artist marks the end of her residency with a final exhibition -- pairing pastel drawings with audio, Animikiik’otcii Maakaai tells her personal story of transformation, strength, and resilience found through Ceremony.
