Award-winning University of Toronto Professor Steve Joordens spoke to the themes of memory, recollection and nostalgia found in Souvenir involontaire. A cognitive psychologist whose primary research interests focus on the interaction between conscious and unconscious memory processes, Joordens' talk highlighted the role that certain retrieval cues can play in terms of “involuntarily” resurrecting past memories, whether we like them or not!
