Open Studio with Kwame Delfish

Drop by the Doris McCarthy Gallery to visit our Summer Artist-in-Residence at work in the studio!

Over the summer of 2026, the DMG has invited Scarborough-based multidisciplinary artist Kwame Delfish to participate in a residency, activating the gallery as his studio space and connecting with community. While the residency is focused primarily on his painting, Kwame engages a range of mediums—hairstyling, graphic design, costuming, storytelling, and more—in his practice, amplifying overlooked and untold narratives. These monthly open studio sessions open the door to the community, offering an informal opportunity to meet Kwame, see his work in-progress, and learn more about his artistic approach.

Light refreshments will be offered, and everyone is welcome! No registration required.

This is a relaxed, drop-in program, attendees can come and go as they need, and seating will be available. The Doris McCarthy Gallery is wheelchair accessible. If you have accommodation requirements, please contact dmg.utsc@utoronto.ca.
