Introductory Ceramics Workshops

Two sessions are being offered of this free half-day workshop, held in the professional ceramics studio at Cedar Ridge Creative Centre. Participants will learn basic hand-building techniques and experience the unique qualities of clay. Each participant will create a small sculpture that will be fired and available for pick up at the Doris McCarthy Gallery after the workshop. No experience is required and all materials will be provided. Participants must be over the age of 16.

The Doris McCarthy Gallery is excited to work with Cedar Ridge Creative Centre to offer this off-site workshop. Run by the City of Toronto, Cedar Ridge Creative Centre is an art centre and gallery located in a historic mansion in one of Scarborough's underserved communities -- Kingston-Galloway/Orton Park. The arts education and engagement opportunities offered by Cedar Ridge enhance the livability and prosperity of the Scarborough community.
