Film Screening of Wasteland

This documentary follows renowned artist Vik Muniz as he journeys to his native Brazil and the world's largest garbage dump on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. Muniz collaborates with an eclectic group of "catadores" - self-designated pickers of recyclable materials - to create portraits made out of garbage, revealing both dignity and despair as the catadores begin to reimagine their lives.
