Film Screening: Family Ties

Presented by the University of Toronto Sexual & Gender Diversity Office

The DMG hosted an evening of film, music and dialogue as Toronto-based artists Casey Mecija (Ohbijou) & Vivek Shraya (What I LOVE About Being Queer/ She of the Mountains) shared their two short films, and Holy Mother My Mother. These films explore the complex relationships between queer diasporic children and their parents, standing as tributes to the often unrecognized labour of immigrant parents. Part of the tri-campus Family Ties tour.
