Contemporary Art Bus Tour

Co-presented with the Varley Art Gallery and Aga Khan Museum

Journey across the GTA for a full day of inspiring exhibitions and engaging conversations. The program begins at the Aga Khan Museum, to experience the installation Emergent Formations (2026) by artist Dawit L. Petros, as part of the Toronto Biennial of Art. From there, travel to the Varley Art Gallery for a guided tour of I Think This Means I Could Fly by Anique Jordan, an exhibition that explores how truth is made, inherited and given form. Next, continue to the Doris McCarthy Gallery to explore Cartographies of Longing, which brings together artists whose works reflect on ancestry, migration, and enduring connections to memory and place. The bus will return to the Aga Khan Museum to conclude the day.

Free, open to the public. Registration required. Participants should bring a packed lunch and snacks to enjoy between stops. Dress comfortably for a full day of travel and gallery visits.

This is primarily a walking program, with opportunities for seating and rest on the bus and in most of the gallery spaces. The gallery spaces are wheelchair accessible, the shuttle bus is not. If you have accommodation needs, please contact Varley@Markham.ca.
