Black Lunch Table Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

Heather Hart led this public session in which participants created, updated, and improved Wikipedia articles pertaining to the lives and works of local visual artists of the African Diaspora.

All were invited, with no specialized knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia editing experience required. Library resources and a list of suggested artists, cultural creators, and institutions were on hand. Training sessions around the basics of Wikipedia editing were held at 10 am and at 2 pm, but help was available throughout the event. Snacks and skills provided; participants were asked to bring their own laptop, though a limited number of computers were available for use.
