Artist Talk by Shary Boyle

In this online artist talk, Shary Boyle will speak about her recent work The Sleeper, a public interactive sculpture, as well as Scarbrough Mirror, which is currently on exhibition at the Doris McCarthy Gallery vitrines as part of the group exhibition, New Neighbours.

Born in Scarborough, Shary Boyle is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice involves a long-term commitment to collaboration. She is the recipient of a 2021 Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from the Ontario College of Art and Design University, where she graduated in 1994. Boyle has received the Gershon Iskowitz and the Hnatyshyn Award. In 2013 she represented Canada at the Venice Biennial. Her exhibition, Shary Boyle: How We Are, was presented at the Art Gallery of Hamilton in spring 2026.

This talk is free and open to the public, all are welcome. It will be hosted on Zoom with captions.
