DMG @ Cedar Ridge Creative Centre Curatorial Mentorship Program exhibition

Who We’ll Be is a student-curated exhibition that brings together recent works by University of Toronto Scarborough Studio Art Students.

Who We’ll Be explores the experiences of young adulthood, a formative period of change and uncertainty, where tension often occurs between individual desires and external expectations. The exhibition highlights many of the particular pressures—economic, mental health, cultural—faced by Generation Z. The artworks address the emotional complexity of this time, as the artists reflect on the choices they have made in pursuit of stability, whether it be for their self-image, relationships, or professional aspirations. Who We’ll Be gives tangible form to the realities of being on the precipice of independence, while navigating the unwritten rules of adulthood.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Who We’ll Be is the twelfth in a series of annual student exhibitions presented in partnership between Cedar Ridge Creative Centre and the Doris McCarthy Gallery, University of Toronto Scarborough, as part of the DMG @ Cedar Ridge Creative Centre Curatorial Mentorship Program. The exhibition is the culmination of a curatorial internship at the Doris McCarthy Gallery by a U of T Scarborough student, created to allow students to develop and put their skills into professional practice, sharing their resulting work in public spaces.
