Writing Workshopping with Amy Lam & Daniella Sanader
Workshop your writing with the Doris McCarthy Gallery!
We invite your applications for one-on-one writing tutorials with Amy Lam and Daniella Sanader in the winter/spring of 2021.
If you have a text that you’re looking for editorial input on, whether it’s big picture stuff or fine-tuning, please consider applying to workshop it with Amy Lam or Daniella Sanader. Amy or Daniella can work with you directly to develop your text during a one-on-one Zoom session.
We are open to workshopping texts in various states of completion: from outlines and abstracts, to loose collections of fragments, to fully realized drafts. Send us your fiction, your essays, your poetry, your scripts/screenplays, your exhibition reviews, your artist statements, your written experiments that don’t fit any of these categories. Texts do not have to be polished or complete to be available for workshopping!
We are prioritizing working with emerging/early career artists and writers, but recognize that everyone comes to the designation of “emerging” differently, regardless of age, background, or experience level. When you submit your application, tell us a bit about yourself and how this practice is new for you.
The program will take place from March to May 2021. Session dates are flexible and will be determined based on each participant’s schedule.
Please note: at this time, we are not prioritizing providing mentorship on assignments or papers intended for academic submission. Our highest priority is to work with applicants who are currently not in formal education. We accept applications from anywhere in the world. Approximately 6-8 applicants will be selected. Applicants will be contacted to learn their status by the end of March.
