Reflections explores different ways in which identity can be considered, defined, and understood – through family and inherited narratives, places that shape perspective, and ideas of wellness and self-care. Curated by and featuring work by students at the University of Toronto Scarborough, this exhibition presents stories tied to immigration, diaspora and displacement, mental and physical health, culture and culinary tradition, and domesticity. Reflections offers an intimate glimpse into the lives and defining experiences of the artists, while asking the viewer to contemplate their own measures of identity.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Reflections is the sixth in a series of annual student exhibitions presented in partnership between Cedar Ridge Creative Centre and the Doris McCarthy Gallery, University of Toronto Scarborough, as part of the DMG @ Cedar Ridge Creative Centre Curatorial Program. The exhibition is the culmination of a curatorial internship at the Doris McCarthy Gallery by a student or recent graduate of the University of Toronto Scarborough.
